What are dermal fillers?

Hyaluronic acid fillers

Calcium hydroxylapatite fillers

Calcium hydroxylapatite is a natural substance that’s present in your bones. It’s found in Radiesse® cosmetic injectables and often used to treat deep wrinkles and lines. Radiesse also helps stimulate your skin’s natural collagen production. 

Poly-l-lactic acid fillers

Poly-l-lactic acid is a biocompatible substance that’s been used for many years in dissolvable stitches and other medical devices. Sculptra and other injectables containing poly-l-lactic acid are collagen stimulators, smoothing deep lines and wrinkles and rebuilding collagen.

What happens during dermal filler injections?

Before dermal filler injections, your specialist cleans and numbs the treatment area and injects filler substances under the surface of your skin. The results are often immediate, with continued improvements in treated tissues developing over time. 

Each injection takes a minute to two to complete, and you can expect to receive multiple injections during each treatment.
